Early Childhood Special Educator

A Step Ahead is recruiting a fun-loving Early Childhood Special Educator to join our growing team of early support for infants and toddlers providers. Work with infants and toddlers and their caregivers in the home environment to improve developmental skills. Servicing the Bethel, Franklin Pierce, Puyallup, Orting & Eatonville School Districts, we offer a flexible and positive working environment, where you'll be part of a dynamic, committed, fun and friendly multidisciplinary staff Including speech, physical, occupational & infant mental health therapists along with other educators. Duties include: Assessment and evaluation, development of home programs, assisting in the development of Individual Family Service Plans, participation in multidisciplinary planning and teams.

Minimum Requirements

  • Washington State Teaching Certificate

  • Degree in Special Education, Early Childhood or related field.

  • Experience with children under the age of 5 and a wide range of diagnoses including: Autism, genetic disorders, medically fragile, and motor-speech disorders, strongly preferred

  • Valid Washington Drivers License & Current Auto Insurance

  • Current First Aid/CPR

  • Must Pass Pre-Employment Background Check
