A Step Ahead depends on the generous donations of people like you who want all children to have access to the help they need. 50% of our clients are Medicaid patients and reimbursements do not adequately cover the costs of providing high quality care at home. Please consider donating and giving hope to families who are already doing so much to meet the needs of their little ones.
Currently, ASAPC does not accept donations of clothing, toys or furniture.

YOUR DONATION IN ACTION
Every child we see benefits from life-changing therapies. Yet, high deductibles, co-pays and lack of coverage make paying for our services a challenge for many families. Here’s how your donation can help
$750 provides a year of home services to a foster child to reduce the effects of abuse and neglect
$500 funds a month of weekly therapy for a child without health benefits
$250 funds two months of therapy sessions for a child with state-provided insurance
$200 sponsors a child to attend a quarterly play group
$100 buys 12 books to give to children during the story alive events
$50 buys 10 specialized intake books to assist the transitioning child/parent

All donations to A Step Ahead in Pierce County are followed by an acknowledgment letter and/or receipt stating your contribution amount and date. This letter can also be used as part of your tax records to verify your donation. You will receive this letter via standard mail through the United States Postal Service or email (if so desired). If you do not receive this letter, and need it for your tax records, please contact Michelle Smith, Development Director michelles@asapc.org. Learn about our donor privacy here.

Matching Donations
You may be able to double or even triple your contribution to A Step Ahead if you work for a company that matches employee gifts. Nearly 10,000 companies in the United States, and a large number in Canada, offer one benefit to their employees which is seldom used. A large number of companies will match your donations to selected charitable organizations with corporate funds, simply by asking you to fill out a form. In many cases, A Step Ahead will qualify for these matching funds.
Please see your Human Resources department to see if your company has such a matching gift program, and to determine our eligibility. Even companies without formal programs will often provide contributions to charitable organizations in which employees are involved.
