what is BOOST?
The BOOST program provides home visiting services to infants and toddlers (birth to 5 years) living in foster care. BOOST is a program which aims to mitigate the damage done to our youngest children who have been abused, neglected, or exposed to drugs prenatally. Services are highly individualized as we find each situation unique.
The BOOST program's primary focus is supporting the child’s social emotional growth along with supporting the entire foster family. BOOST specifically targets healthy emotional development through Infant Mental Health services. Infant Mental Health focuses on the relationship between infant and caregiver.
Home visits are provided by an Infant Mental Health Specialist at a frequency determined by the foster parent or relative caregiver. A simple family plan is written which outlines the family and/or developmental concerns indicated by an initial screening.
